This Friday, July 24, at 4.00 pm, we will chant the Akathist Hymn (Ἀκάθιστος Ὕμνος εἰς τὴν Ὑπεραγίαν Θεοτόκον) to protest the designation of the Church of Agia Sophia as a mosque.
The Holy Eparchial Synod of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America has designated July 24 as a day of mourning for Agia Sophia, and the Akathist Hymn will be chanted in parishes across the country.
